I Love Breakfast!

Breakfast is absolutely the best meal of the day. There's coffee, bacon is usually involved, and if you have a sweet tooth, you're allowed to have something sugary and chocolatey without being judged. Try that at lunchtime. Not to mention breakfast is the only meal where its socially acceptable to sit in a fancy restaurant alone with a good book.

There are a billion (well, a lot) of amazing breakfast places around town and since I tend to try a new one every week or so, I thought I'd share what I've found. And gloat about all the bacon I'm eating. I thought I'd start out with Egg, which is a favourite not only because of the amazing food, but because it is about a 20 second walk from my house. This is a big selling point when you just got out of bed and are desperate for caffeine (and bacon).

My drink of choice.. mocha deliciousness.

Eggs Florentine. With a side of bacon, of course. Gotta love runny eggs with loads of pepper.

I'm a responsible adult. I didn't get chocolate in my second coffee.

One Step Ahead

On Friday night I went to the Papergirl Brisbane exhibition. It was only up for one night due to the nature of the project, which was kind of a pity. There was so much great art to see and it took a fair few laps of the gallery to really take it all in. I saw lots of pieces I'd like to buy as well, but that's just not how this show worked.

I did freak out a bit when I first arrived because I was confronted with all the stuff I submitted, right in the front door. Since I didn't get time to make anything new I was hoping it would have been already rolled up and ready to go so I didn't have to be reminded of my laziness :) I wasn't even sure my stuff would make it since I only sent it in on Wednesday!

Unfortunately I had to work on Saturday so I couldn't join in the bike ride, but I can't wait to see how it all went. Hopefully everyone was happy with what they ended up with!

You're The Dream Unicorn!

As if I didn't have enough on my plate, I've decided to participate in Papergirl Brisbane. It's a really cool project where artists submit artworks which then get distributed to random people in the city by bicycle.. papergirl style! I love the idea of spreading free art throughout the city. And imagine being one of the lucky people to receive something. A wonderful surprise once you got over the strangeness of the situation.

I've got a couple of older prints that I'll be submitting, but I want to start on a few new pieces next week. Because apparently finding a new place to live, packing, and all those other art projects aren't keeping me busy enough.

Heartbeat and Sails

Those Kusama dots are making their way all over town...

I have a billion (or maybe about five) blog entries to write, but my computer is running extremely slow. I'm getting through this Boxing Day afternoon by eating cheese and watching 30 Rock. I'm also trying to fight off a nap since it's so late in the afternoon. There's something about Christmas that makes me extra sleepy, even when I've had a proper eight hours. Hope your Christmases were awesome!
